Tammy Kissling and Liz Walker are working with Fern Creek United Methodist Church to help feed the hungry of Louisville. Several times a year FCUMC brings together a group of members to fill large Ziploc baggies with non-perishable snacks and food items. They then take these snack bags out to the homeless camps all around Louisville.
Tammy and Liz would like to invite you to participate in a satellite event at Christ Lutheran Church. On Sunday, April 29, during the Sunday School hour, we will have all our youth groups fill Ziploc baggies with snacks for Louisville homeless. We need donations of snacks and baggies. Things that can be included are individually wrapped nut packs, trail mix, snack cakes, peanut butter crackers, cheese crackers, chips, pretzels, dried fruit, gum, etc. We will also accept cash donations and we will go shopping for the supplies. Once our snack bags are stuffed, Liz and Tammy will deliver to Fern Creek United Methodist Church for them to deliver to individuals in need. Anyone is invited to come and pack the baggies NOT just our youth members!!
The number of homeless individuals in Louisville is staggering and continues to grow every day. Most individuals do not go to the shelters for food. By providing these snack bags we will help feed these individuals. Thank you for your time, donations and participation into this new mission event.
